Teddy still shaken by Franklin’s move to kill his father, calls his ex to inform her that she must relocate with their son due to an imminent threat. Teddy refuses to back down from anyone at this point and wants to put eyes on every location Franklin may be at in L.A. He also pays Ruben a visit and warns him that he needs to leave him alone, otherwise he will kill him.

Cassandra makes one last effort to get Vee to stay with her in Arizona instead of going back to Los Angeles with Franklin. Vee has more trust in Franklin and how handles her safety and security opposed to the checkered past she had experienced with her mother. Vee makes the choice to stay with Franklin, a decision that will likely come with terrible ramifications later.

When Franklin and Vee arrive home, they quickly warn Leon, Wanda and Cissy of his actions in Kansas City and how Tedy will be out for blood. Cissy insists on staying in the projects with Leon and Wanda, they suspect that is a place Teddy will stay away from.

Jerome returns home to a frantic and angry Louie. He is drunk but he is speaking very sober thoughts. He tells Louie he is leaving for Jamaica in the morning. He is tired of getting shot at and plotting to kill his own family. Money no longer matters to him and he is aware nothing will make Louie happy, even after all of his sacrifices for her. The following morning, Louie acknowledges Jerome’s feelings but admits that although she is running the business, she does not have the respect she so desperately desires. When Jerome asks her if that is worth dying over, Louie admits that her self worth indeed is. She needs time to make moves to be able to be completely out and because Jerome can see how frantic she is, he offers to make the drop to Skully so she can clear her head.

Franklin meets with Oso and promises payment of $10 million dollars to have Teddy delivered to him. Oso wants $1 million immediately and passports for his entire family. He also wants Franklin to make sure he kills Teddy after he gets his money back to secure his safety. Franklin promises to do just that.

Louie goes to the stable to ride her horse. Kane’s men have been waiting on their moment and alas, it has arrived. The armed men successfully kidnap Louie and bring her to Kane.

While Franklin is with Vee, prepping for a drop, he gets a call. It’s Kane telling him that he caught something big and invites Franklin to come see. Kane appears to want Buckley more than anything. He is persistent in violently trying to get the answers out of Louie, however she is aware that giving up the information will not change her fate.

Franklin arrives to the warehouse and is surprised to see Louie has been captured. Kane tells Franklin he figured he would want to be the one to kill Louie in the end. Kane brands Louie in hopes of getting her to reveal where Buckley is but Louie still refuses. Franklin asks to have the room so he can speak with Louie. He tells her to give Buckley up and pray for a quick death. Louie continues to blame Franklin for her circumstances and when he walks off, she agrees to help him get Teddy. He apologizes to her and let’s her know he already has a way — leaving Louie to face her consequences.

As Franklin rides off from the warehouse, he decides to page Jerome in hopes of helping Louie. He also enlists Leon to page Jerome also, he responds to Leon. Jerome finds out what is happening to Louie while doing the drop with Skully. He tries to call Buckley who is off getting high, once again. Franklin and Leon meet with Jerome and Skully agreeing to all come together to get Louie.

Kane is setting Louie up to be raped by a local pimp and some of the other members of his crew. The clock is ticking on getting Louie out of there but she is not going down quietly.

Franklin is able to come back to the warehouse without a problem, sneaking Jerome in through his trunk. Jerome takes out the guy at the gate and allows Skully and Leon to come in. Franklin goes in first and takes out several of the guys guarding the room Louie is in. Jerome enters as back-up and they effortlessly take everyone out. Jerome tells Franklin to go get Leon but he moves into the room to get Louie. It’s between Kane and Jerome. With Kane’s gun aimed at Louie and Jerome’s at Kane, the pair end up shooting at one another giving Louie the space to run away. Kane is killed but Jerome is also hit. He dies with Louie pleading for him to wake up. Franklin sits in a chair and sobs, Leon and Skully also stand away and silently weep.

Takeaways:

If anyone doubted the legacy of ‘Snowfall,’ it is stamped for me. This is the type of heartbreak and realism that creates classic television. The death of Jerome Saint is no easy one, a fan favorite to the end.

Accountability is becoming another major theme as we cross into episode 7 of the final season. Franklin and Louie have sealed so many fates with their actions. Selfishness, greed and the desire for power has already cost both sides a great deal — but it’s not over.

Wanda, Vee and Cissy are the characters I am most fearful for at this point. I am not ready for Cissy’s heartbreak. She is losing all of the men she has ever loved.
