Trig calls on Rashad for assistance with the Marcus situation. It appears Marcus will make it to the hospital in time to get some help. Jake and Jemma wake up in their hotel room. Realizing how late it is, Jemma jumps up and tells Jake she needs to get home before her father wakes up. Knowing what happened to Marcus, Jake insists that they get breakfast before she heads home. They go to Jake’s house to eat and while there Jemma hears the news story reporting that her father is in critical condition at the hospital. She immediately breaks down in tears.

At a press conference down at City Hall, Otis announced the funding for the community watch program. The press wants to know more about what happened to Marcus and Otis is very brief in saying their office is looking into it. He introduces Tracy and she gives a speech on the success of their program and hopefully the future abolishment of the police department. Later that night the pair have dinner and Tracy wants Otis to be honest with her about what happened to Marcus. Otis denies any involvement.

Jemma goes to see her father in the hospital and is determined to find out what happened to him. She tells Jake there are cameras all over the house and she rushes home to review the footage. Before she watches, Jake admits that he saw her father on the floor hurt, that Otis was there and Trig helped her father get medical attention. Jemma is upset that Jake did not tell her but he needed to protect his brother. Jake tells her not to tell anyone about the incident. The following day she goes to see Jake and Trig. She gives Trig the surveillance footage from the house and decides to free him from any guilt considering he did try to help her father. Trig watches the footage to see what happened. He goes to see Otis and tells him he needs to disappear otherwise he will make the footage public. Tracy tells Otis he does need to disappear and breaks off their relationship. Roselyn takes Otis to an undisclosed location and appears to now be taking over for Otis.

Rashad and Imani finally reconcile. Rashad comes over for breakfast and apologizes to her for his previous disrespect. He also thanks her for his coming home party. Rashad and Trig talk about a childhood friend of Rashad’s that had passed away while he was in jail. The two of them bond over memories.

Kevin and Lynae get caught by Dre for their little sleepover. Dre knows that things have gotten bad for Lynae at home. She is essentially homeless but Dre offers to let her stay with them until she can find something more permanent for her. Although Dre and Nina are still on the outs, Nina agrees to let Lynae stay with them. Dre also agrees to work on their marriage. Kevin seems to like the idea of Lynae staying with them even though she expresses she does not like Kevin “like that.”

Takeaways:

Keisha and Christian are official now and I love it!

Lena must have heard me say nothing better not happen to our good sis Jada! Thank you Lena!

I love seeing Kevin crush so hard on Lynae. It’s cute!
