Academics Paves Way for Francis to Play Athletically at Collegiate Level

After having a stellar high school basketball career, Ashlee Francis held no scholarship offers and was not heavily recruited, so her basketball career was seemingly over. However, she had already began preparing for the next phase in her educational career by submitting academic acceptance paperwork to several colleges & universities. Given that Francis flaunts a 3.3 gpa, she was accepted into every school that she applied to Auburn University, Georgia State University, Kennesaw State University, and LSU.

After weighing her options, Francis decided on Auburn University.

Notable: She will be majoring in sports medicine and minoring in physical therapy.

Despite not being awarded an athletic scholarship, Francis still had a burning desire to play basketball on the collegiate level, so she and her family continued to pray that an opportunity would present itself and somehow create a path for her to play in college.

Prayer Answered

In addition to being academically accepted into Auburn University, on Sunday April 24, 2016 Ashlee Francis was informed by the basketball staff that she would also be allowed to join the Auburn Lady Tigers basketball team as a preferred walk-on in the fall.

Upon receiving the news, her mom, Chaka Pearson-Hardy, stated “Ashlee is so excited and hasn’t stopped smiling yet! She truly loves the game and I’m excited for her.”

THIS IS PROOF THAT HARD WORK ACADEMICALLY & ATHLETICALLY PAYS OFF!

CONGRATULATIONS & GOOD LUCK ASHLEE FRANCIS!

WAR EAGLE!
