Erica Moore Leading Lady Huskies as Region Tourney Nears
As the end of the 2015–2016 regular season nears, the Howard Lady Huskies basketball team is looking to become a more consistent team going into the 2-AAAA region tournament. With an 11–11 overall record on the season, the Lady Huskies aim to gain some momentum with a victory over Upson Lee in the season finale.
Senior, Erica Moore, has been the most consistent player for Howard this season. According to maxpreps.com, the 5'7 guard is averaging a team leading 19.1ppg, 8.1rpg, 4.8apg, and 3spg for the Lady Huskies this season. Likewise, Moore is Howard’s all-time leading scorer — 1,681 career points and counting (season still in progress). Head Coach Latavia Coleman states “Erica Moore is a great person, student, and athlete. She has an excellent work ethic and wants to be the best at everything she does. She will be truly missed” when asked about Moore’s importance to the team and her impending departure (graduation).

- First Team All-Region; Class AAAA Second Team All-State; Second Team All Middle GA (2014–2015)
- 2015 Middle Georgia All-Star Classic Selection:Warner Robins, GA
- 2015 Rising Stars High School Showcase Selection: Darton College Albany, GA
- Placed 5th Nationally at AAU Nationals in Orlando,FL — Macon United 17u girls (2015)
**NOTEWORTHY: Moore currently has a 3.2 gpa and is garnering interest from several college programs that are heavily recruiting her for basketball — Memphis, Wingate, Sam Houston State and Middle Tennessee.
BIO:
Erica Moore is the proud daughter of Erick and Shun Moore. Mrs. Moore is employed with the Bibb County Public School system. Mr. Moore is a Board Member and Managing Partner for a private equity firm.
Post high school graduation, Moore plans to attend college where she will major in Sports Management.
