Former Southwest-Macon Star Adrian Alexander Set To Graduate

Adrian Alexander is known for his superb athletic abilities on the football field. However, on Saturday December 12, 2015 at the Albany Civic Center, he will become known for being a college graduate.

Alexander starred for the Southwest-Macon High School football team from 2005–2008. Although small in stature, he gained a reputation for his physical running style, and was given the nickname “Iron Head” by his teammates. Alexander broke the single season rushing and touchdown record at Southwest by recording 2,165 yards and 27 touchdowns during his senior (2008) season. Additionally, he was a 2008 class AA first team all-state selection.

Post high school graduation, Alexander went on to star for the Albany State University Golden Rams football team in Albany, Georgia. During his college career, he accounted for over 2,600 all purpose yards and 14 td’s. As a freshman, Alexander was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2011 Fountain City Classic versus Fort Valley State College. Moreover, he scored the game winning touchdown in the 2013 SIAC championship game versus Miles College.

Despite facing unfavorable circumstances in his personal life, Adrian Alexander persevered through the many obstacles that presented themselves and is scheduled to fulfill his childhood dream of becoming a college graduate. He gives God the glory for his accomplishments in life thus far. Alexander stated “All you can do is look up to your father and say thank you for everything you put me through in life to help me understand that it’s more than being out here in the streets.”
