On Tuesday night, the Central Lady Chargers can move into first place in the region 2AAA standings with a win over the #4 ranked Kendrick Lady Cherokees. With a history of being near the bottom of the standings and minimal success, the Lady Chargers are in unfamiliar territory. However, they are confident and up for the challenge going into tonight’s game.

Central’s young core have been key contributors into the teams success this season. Sophomores Re’Nesha Goolsby and JenYa Wilder lead the backcourt. Goolsby is the team’s primary three point threat, while Wilder serves as their best two way player. Additionally, sophomore center, Jada Clowers, chips in valuable minutes off of the bench using her size to patrol the lane — rebounding and shot blocking.

On the other hand, the Kendrick Lady Cherokees have a tradition of winning and are no stranger to big games. In fact, they have won at least twenty (20) games in each of the past six seasons and won a state title in 2014. Kendrick comes into tonight’s game with a 10–0 record in region play and looks to hold steady with a victory tonight over Central.
