Despite the disproportionately high crime rates in Bibb County — specifically among youth — Macon-Bibb Parks and Recreation Athletic Coordinator, Armand Burnett, is excited and remains optimistic about the vision that the department has set forth for Macon’s residents going into 2016. He is excited about the current extracurricular activities that are being offered as well as the new ones that will become available starting in 2016. The entire parks and recreation department is looking forward to continuing to serve as that positive outlet that the community desperately needs.

“It starts with our youth, we have to positively invest in them in every way imaginable — they are the future. Be the ONE that takes pride in your community and where you are from, even if no one else will. You owe that to yourself.”

~Armand Burnett
