The New Kid on the Block
Cameron Holden Has Arrived

A YEAR TO REMEMBER

2015–16 GHSA: Breakout Regular Season
Under the radar prospect Cameron Holden, is slowly starting to come into his own. Following a subpar freshman campaign, the 6-foot-5 sophomore guard from Mary Persons High School emerged as one of the best prep basketball players in the GHSA this season. He averaged 18.3ppg, 6.3rpg, and 4.2apg and raised his production in every statistical category and was named the Class AAAA Sophomore of the Year by hoopseen.com.
When asked about his transformation, Holden explains:
“After my freshman year, I realized that I had to become stronger both mentally and physically going into my sophomore season, so I spent a lot of time training (lifting weights & conditioning) during the off season and it has paid off up until this point.”
Summer 16' AAU: Continuing His Coming Out Party
Holden has continued to impress with his outstanding play during the early session’s of the 2016 AAU travel season. In fact, he was selected to the Norman Parker Showcase All-Tournament Team alongside some of the nation’s top prospects. Likewise, Holden turned heads at the Hoopseen Atlanta Jam tournament held in April by pouring in 35 points during a 84–76 victory for the Team Georgia Magic.
While discussing his early success on the AAU Showcase Circuit, Holden continues:
“I was a little nervous coming into the season given that it would be my first summer on the showcase circuit playing against elite competition every game. However, I scored 28 points in my first game on the circuit and it gave me the confidence that I could be successful against anybody no matter what, so now that’s how I approach every game.”
Holden is starting to garner interest from LM & HM D-1 programs such as Tennessee Tech, Mercer, Georgia Southern, Pepperdine, and Mississippi State.
