The days darken in the Northern hemisphere as we near the veil between autumn and winter. The shadows come to life as the sun flees and winter approaches. Leaves fall in either fear of forgetfulness. The world turns.
As the river wends its way through the old forests it tells its stories of renewal and destruction, of the strange and of the eerie, of whispers heard between tower blocks and secrets told in dark copses, of weird creatures, unsettling scenes, and odd happenings.
Here at The Mad River we want to huddle in the firelight and hear those stories. Come, tell us your tales …
We’ve teamed up with 13 Days of Dark & Weird to challenge you to write 13 tales in October, and submit at least one of them. Submissions will be published, each day, either here on The Mad River or on 13 Days… during the thirteen days leading up to Halloween.
