Muons

Cosmic rays from deep space
Hit the atoms of the upper atmosphere,
Muons rain in a cloudless sky
Losing energy as they pass through material planes,
flocks of birds,
Superman,
frogs in treetop puddles,
geomancers' buried lodestones
ginger beer
rhizomes
stone tubes beneath volcanos melt to show
their scaffold
through a screen we see
darkly, as
shells of no color obscure the view
the Mariana Trench gapes obscenely,
accepts all comers
nothing alive remains unseen in heaven's eyes,
layers all alike
the static
