What the f*** is happiness ? Everybody is complaining all around.

Everyone wants to be happy. This is good part. Bad part is they are trying the short way and no one wants to put efforts in trade. No one wants the hard life. People choose what seems to be convenient and then they cry and blame everything on luck.

Easy Choices -> Hard Life ;

Hard Choices -> Easy Life

Being specific to India, Considering Millennials and their Parents (Baby Boomers). Millennials think only about their happiness and they are trying short term ways. Baby Boomers just sacrifice their own individuality for the sake of making their Kids happy. End Result, You can see around you.

Social Media has become Show-Off Media where everyone is participating in an unnamed race without explicitly telling each other but everyone wants to Win.

Someone asked me once, ‘What did you do on last weekend ?’ ‘Nothing I replied’ He gave me a look like I killed someone and I no longer am allowed to stand with him. “No party, No pub, No disco” He exclaimed. No, I nodded.

People are looking for happiness by diverting their mind, they think by making their mind busy somewhere in loud music; they will attain happiness. Such people are prone to become more lonely. As when music stops, their mind starts wandering again. It asks them question “Are You Happy ?” Because we confuse happiness with fun, we reply No. We think we are miserable and we want next round of party.

Few people find that busyness in Alcohol, Few find that busyness in night clubs and few find busyness in mountains.

Interestingly, Most of these people find satisfaction which they again confuse with ‘feeling of importance’ by having likes on Social media. They prefer adding filters and gathering appreciation for someone who does not exist than showing their real self. They are scared their real self does not deserve any appreciation. They feel pity on their real-self.

What they don’t understand is you can never achieve happiness at its peak all the time. Even if you get all the happiness of world, then after a while you will get used to it and consider it your normal routine. You will demand more and there is none.

You need to understand “Your daily life is happy” The small trips you make, that is fun; the party you goto, that is fun; the alcohol you drink, that is fun.

Go for fun once in a while, if you keep doing fun then there will be no more fun in fun.

I will share a secret, I don’t listen my favourite song again and again. Because once I will get bored of it, It will be no more my favourite and I don’t want that to happen.

Now take a break for sometime, give yourself some free time to think. Don’t get addicted of anything for happiness.Once you attain that thing, you will crave more and it is never ending story. Remember : Addiction of anything is bad.

Tips

Never say, only travelling make me happy. Say I am happy and I do enjoy mountains, trekking and travelling.

Never say, parties make me happy. Say I am happy and I do enjoy parties when there is occasion to celebrate.

Never say, alcohol makes me happy. Say I do enjoy couple of drinks in a good company.

Don’t make your mind busy with intention of diverting its attention. Co-operate with it. It wants to help you if you want to help yourself.

Easy Solution

Find what makes you ‘not happy’ and don’t do that. On the scale of 1 to 10. 10 being happiest and 1 being saddest. If 5 is moderate. Try to attain 6–7 in daily life. Enjoy the fruit of 8 to 10 once in a while. Let it be special. If every moment will become special, special moment will become ‘normal’!

Instead of struggling for 8 to 10 all the time, try to avoid 1 to 4. If not former, Latter is in your hands. Reduce noise what makes your happiness level 1 to 4. It could be people, material things, office job, promotion, fight with tenant OR anything for that matter. Life is short, don’t waste it for 1–4 and 8–10. We sacrifice attainable level 5–7 for noisy 1–4 and rare 8–10.

At last, Don’t fight for happiness with wrong definition. In fact do not fight for happiness at all. Happiness is like a baby, it comes jumping to a person who is smiling.

Smile ❤
