From Marcy’s inception, we have always viewed providing access to multiple career pathways as critical to our mission of creating not just a coding bootcamp or a technical training program but an aspirational alternative to college.

Over the last 4+ years, we’ve supported our Fellows on their journey to becoming world-class software engineers, helping them secure jobs at top companies across the country and establishing the foundation for them to build generational wealth for themselves and their families.

In addition to learning the technical skills needed to master their experience on the job in just one year, Marcy Lab Fellows develop a deep understanding and appreciation for their communities and the world around them.

Our alumni have gone on to work at companies including The New York Times, FanDuel, Kargo, Spotify, Squarespace, and more, bringing both deep technical expertise and the values of unwavering discipline, community, and belonging to the workplace.

Partnering with Mizuho

Building on our partnership with Mizuho Americas, we are excited to be doubling down on our mission to help provide our Fellows with a pathway to economic freedom and life-changing roles in tech by launching a new data analytics major focused on helping students cultivate in-demand data science skills.

The development and launch of the pilot of the new curriculum track in Spring 2025 has been funded with a catalyzing grant of $450,000 over three years from Mizuho. We are excited and grateful for their support as we continue to evolve how we best meet the needs of our Fellows and our community.

What students need — and deserve — is a choice in how, when, where, and at what cost they pursue the skills needed to be successful. With this latest support from Mizuho, we are thrilled to continue thinking creatively about how to empower our students to have more choices in what their paths to success look like.
— Reuben Ogbonna, Executive Director and Co-Founder

The new program track will build on our existing software engineering programming, with many of its pieces feeling familiar to our community, with technical skill-building and leadership development remaining at the core of the curriculum.

What’s Ahead

In the coming months, we will share even more on how this new track will enable us to reach even more young adults and broaden our impact in NYC. Please stay tuned for more updates and information on the program, how to apply, and how to partner with us!
