For the third straight season, Burlington County College’s radio station WBZCFM will be the official radio station for the Camden Riversharks.

WBZC-FM will broadcast all 70 home games, beginning with the home-opener on Tuesday, April 23 at 7:05 p.m., when the Riversharks play the Bridgeport Bluefish.

The educational component to the partnership allows BCC students to get hands-on experience producing, promoting, and organizing a professional sports team broadcast. Philadelphia Flyers radio broadcaster Tim Saunders will be mentoring BCC students and calling several games for the station.

This opportunity will give students a chance to build their resume, portfolio and network with broadcasting professionals. Students will assist in pre-game activities, play-by-play announcing, and post-game wrap-ups.

“Not many students have the opportunity to work with a professional sports team or Tim Saunders, one of the best play-by-play announcers out there,” said Brett Holcomb, Operations Manager and Programming Director of WBZC-FM. “Our listeners enjoy the excitement of the game and our students get valuable hands-on experience. It’s a win-win.”

“Every season we have worked with WBZC-FM has been a pleasure,” said Adam Lorber, President/General Manager for the Camden Riversharks. “With experienced broadcasters like Tim Saunders and Brett Holcomb leading the way, we are able teach students interested in the industry while producing a first-rate broadcast.”

Games can be heard on 88.9 (Bordentown- Atlantic City), 95.1 (Burlington — Bristol), 100.7 (Mount Holly — Lumberton), and online at www.Z889.org. Saturday games will be on the ZEDM web stream, which can be found under “listen live” on the station’s website.
