The animal welfare clubs of Marlton Middle School and Cherokee High School are inviting all residents out to a night of fine eating to help benefit the Evesham Township Police Department.

A “Dine and Donate” event will be held at LaPosata, 892 Route 70 North, Marlton on Monday, May 16 from 5 to 9 p.m. Reservations for the event are recommended, club representatives reported.

The night will see 20 percent of the incoming funds donated to the Evesham Township Police Department. The money will be used to held fund the purchase and training of a new canine unit for the department.

One of the department’s retired canine units, Justice, passed away recently. He served as a member on the Evesham Police Department’s Canine unit for six years, retiring from duty in 2007.
