Good job Evesham Township, thanks for all the cookies
On behalf of the Yellow Ribbon Club, I would like to extend our deepest thanks for your participation in our Cookie Campaign for the Troops, which was held on Dec. 3 in Marlton. This cookie drive was the best one yet.
Last year, we did a cookie drive in December and we collected and shipped a little over a half of a ton of cookies to the troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. We were hoping to at least collect the same but we are happy to report that we nearly tripled last years count. We shipped almost one and a half tons of cookies to the troops in Afghanistan on Monday, Dec. 5. There were a total of 221 large boxes filled with all kinds of cookies that were sent to the troops.
We very much appreciate all of the work that you did to bake or buy cookies and then you took time out of your busy day to deliver them to us at the Marlton United Methodist Church on Dec. 3. We are so proud that we live in an area of the country where people are patriotic and who care about our troops.
There are a lot of military men and women who will be away from their families during the holiday season and they really appreciate it when “a taste of home” comes to them. Please keep an eye on our website for replies from the troops as we will post them as they come in.
Again, thank you so much for helping us with the best cookie drive yet! Lots of soldiers, marines and airmen will soon be enjoying the yummy treats.
Sincerely,
The Yellow Ribbon Club
