Two Cherokee High School students won National High School Russian Essay Contest awards

The 33rd National High School Russian Essay Contest was held in the U.S, and nationally 42 students competing on the advanced level received gold medals; two of these medals were awarded to Cherokee students.

The gold medal essays were then forwarded to Moscow, Russia for a second round of judging.

Cherokee High School students, Elizabeth Popov & Nicholas Viggiano, were each awarded a Silver Medal in this second, international round of judging.
