Covered Bridges and Harley Dreams: A Day in the Catskills

Hi everyone — steppin’ out of bounds with Walter Bowne. Okay, I’m in the Adirondacks with my wife, Mary Jane. Wait. What? Not the Adirondacks, you idiot. This — this is the Catskills of Southern New York — Sullivan County, to be exact — and we’re exploring Livingston Manor Covered Bridge, and it’s absolutely gorgeous out here.

Livingston Manor Covered Bridge.

There are people fly fishing in the crystal-clear water, and rumor has it, the trout are pretty tasty. We’re on a bit of a bridge tour, and I’ve got a soft spot for covered bridges, especially tucked away in the mountains on a day like this. We even met this older couple on motorcycles — super cool.

They were doing exactly what my wife and I are doing — except, you know, on Harleys. So yeah — they automatically win style points. Anyway, take care, seek adventure, and if you can be with the one you love while you’re at it — hey, that’s even better.
