Visiting St. Moritz is like attending a private event where the unofficial “dress code” requires you to wear some fur. There may be a pizzeria somewhere, but you won’t find cheap burgers or kebabs here. Nevertheless, you will have no problem getting caviar and champagne in one of the many restaurants that have been rewarded with a culinary award.

The shortest but most exclusive shopping street, the “Via Serlas” attracts the rich worldwide. Only major cities, such as London and New York, can beat the large selection of luxury brands and galleries of St. Moritz. Let’s not forget that we talk about a remote small town with 5,000 inhabitants nestled in the Swiss Alps.

The high-class is St.Moritz can surprise with their odd behavior. It is common that hotel guests hire a private driver up to the ski slopes that are only a few hundred meters away. Or an Arab sheik’s son happens to invite all the guests in the local disco for a drink on the occasion of his birthday, leaving behind a bill of tens of thousands of Swiss francs.

However, what makes it still worthwhile for an average person to visit St. Moritz is not primarily the city’s sights but the winter sports on the frozen lake of St. Moritz!
