The city is far from being a paradise, but it is home to a diverse population of indigenous and migrant communities. Davao is also the habitat to some of the world’s most beautiful fauna, including the Philippine Eagle, the world’s largest eagle, and some of the world’s rarest orchids.

Davao City, officially called the City of Davao, is a first-class, highly urbanized city in the Philippines’ Davao Region. The city is the country’s largest in terms of land size, with a total land area of 2,443.61 km2 (943.48 sq mi). It is the third-most populated city in the Philippines after Quezon City and Manila and the most populous in Mindanao. As of 2020, the city has a total population of 1,825,450.

Rice, coconut, corn, sugarcane, Cacao, mango, and banana are all major crops grown in the region. The Fishery Production in the province is sourced from captured fish and aquaculture. The city is Mindanao’s principal trade, business, and industrial center. It is also considered as the Davao Region’s regional center. The city is also known as the “Durian Capital of the Philippines.”
