Always a Maverick! ❤
I joined the Mavericks two and a half years ago as an Influencer Marketing Specialist. I happened to be one of the first employees to be hired for the Bangalore office.
It was a conscious decision made from my end to quit one of the largest agencies in the world to join a start-up. I was welcomed by a young energetic team filled with unmatchable energy and love for the vision we had in mind.
When was asked why I chose to join a start-up during one of the most crucial times of my career — my answer always happened to be just two words — Chetan Mahajan.
I still remember my first meeting with Chetan. It took place at 7:30 am in a CCD! An unbelievably positive individual, a one-stop-shop of PR knowledge, a great listener, someone who had incredible clarity in what he wanted Mavericks to stand for, and of-course the chilled-out informal attitude only added to his charm.
There was an instant comfort felt and the conversation just flowed from then on. Before I knew it, we had delved into every aspect of PR, my thoughts on influencer marketing, the industry as a whole, challenges and opportunities I was looking for, and within the next hour, I knew this was going to be the next entrepreneur I’d want to work for.
Close to 3 years at Mavericks and it has been an inexplicably fulfilling journey. Some amazingly young talent I’ve worked with, let the creative juices flow with the campaigns executed, and learned something new every day. The blog I wrote a year ago — Life @ a Startup still holds good to this very day.
We started off as a four-member team which has grown to a 27 member team today, with a specialized focus and dedicated teams for PR, Influencer Marketing, Digital, Social, Research, and Design. I could not have been more proud of having been a part of this team!
One of the best things that happened to me at Mavericks was building and leading an exclusive team for Influencer Marketing. Influencer Marketing Hub was and will always be my baby, and my three girls who stood by me tall and strong were and will always be, my pillars of strength.
It gave me immense pleasure to mentor these three young and beyond capable individuals. Each one of them brought their own set of strengths and unique skill set to the table which made us one kickass team! I look forward to the day when I see them shining even brighter and will think back to the times when I was fortunate enough to have been a part of their journey. I have said it before and I will say it again — you three have been the best team I’ve ever had, thank you for letting me lead you. My Girls Always ❤
Mavericks has been a place where I have grown immensely and learned so much more than I ever expected to. It has been a comfort space where I have been fortunate enough to have worked with some great mentors and role models.
My move to Delhi for a brief period was one of the most rewarding ones. I was given a chance to work with a larger team, bigger clients, and it was a true start-up experience!
I have been challenged every day here and learned something new. It has truly been one of the best agencies I’ve worked at and moving onto the next phase of my career from here does make me extremely nervous.
Thankfully with unconditional support like always from my mentor Chetan, I’m looking forward to a great journey ahead. However, memories made here will always be cherished. Choosing to be a Maverick forevermore!
