Surge in listenership for podcasts amongst young professionals, advertisers, and consumers.

‘The switch from reading to listening to podcasts’

  • According to a study, a third of millennials are reported to be listening to 5 or more podcasts in a week.
  • With the times, Gen Z and millennials prefer content as per their terms and use devices that are most convenient to them.
  • Youth has slowly begun to be less receptive to digital display, commercial radio, television and has instead been streaming shows of their interests to a laptop or mobile screens, with pause and fast-forward buttons.
  • The study also says that 52% of the listeners said they listened to podcasts on the way to work or while working, and 42% listen to podcasts while in the car.
  • The limitless potential for vernacular audio platforms with 70% population in India consuming audio content on varied subjects is making Podcasts an effective advertising platform as well.

‘Productively Brew-ding’

  • According to the survey titled ‘Productively Brew-ding’ — aimed at understanding how the millennial and the Gen Z population is coping with the lockdown — coffee has emerged as a productivity enabler and a companion during these challenging times.
  • Conducted by Lavazza, an Italian manufacturer of coffee products, the survey reveals that while nearly 45% of respondents like their coffee cold, 40% feel that non-stop rounds of coffee is what keeps them productive while working from home.
  • And as many as 49% of respondents said that they miss their morning coffee with colleagues, more than any other aspect of their morning routine.
  • Close behind were some 47% respondents, who said they love and miss the smell of coffee that they were used to in their office pantry.
  • Among those missing meeting people outside their homes during the lockdown, 77% said they miss a coffee date with their significant other, while 23% people miss drinking coffee in family gatherings.
  • Taking the same love for coffee forward, we are curating #MasterYourBrew coffee workshops with Lavazza for corporates to make their fav type of coffee at home!
