The Bible Answers: “How Can I Receive Salvation?

Is Belief All That’s Required?

Thankfully, Christ never danced around the issue for he explicitly declared “The one who exercises faith in the Son has everlasting life; the one who disobeys the Son will not see life.” — John 3:36

Now, “the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will not do a thing unless he has revealed his confidential matter to his servants the prophets.” — Amos 3:7

The very last of those was his very own Son, Jesus, and he ordered every single one of his disciples to individually proclaim the exact same admonition he publicized throughout his short ministry. (Matthew 28:19, 20; Acts 1:8)

The Apostle Paul was among the many first century Christians who took this command to heart. In fact, he was divinely inspired to reason out,

““Everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.”

However, how will they call on him if they have not put faith in him?

How, in turn, will they put faith in him about whom they have not heard?

How, in turn, will they hear without someone to preach?

How, in turn, will they preach unless they have been sent out?

Just as it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who declare good news of good things!”” (Romans 10:13–15)

Afterwards he explained to the Christians of Corinth, “Now if I am declaring the good news, it is no reason for me to boast, for necessity is laid upon me. Really, woe to me if I do not declare the good news!” (1 Corinthians 9:16)

Now, exactly why did he confess that enthusiastically engaging in this preaching work was absolutely essential for him?

Undoubtedly he had in mind the admonition yet another proclaimer, the prophet Ezekiel, was given. Jehovah forewarned, “When I say to someone wicked, ‘You will surely die,’ but you do not warn him, and you fail to speak in order to warn the wicked one to turn from his wicked course so that he may stay alive, he will die for his error because he is wicked, but I will ask his blood back from you.” (Ezekiel 3:18)

Accordingly, our very own personal salvation is bound directly to whether we routinely proclaim God’s exhortation to everyone within reach … or not.

God’s warning is crystal clear: A silent Christian is a dead Christian.
