It’s an honor to co-host this publication with a great fiction writer, Ira Robinson. The Mayhem is a fiction and humor publication, part of the Suite 1984 family of publications. Not all humor is fiction. Many fiction pieces can be humorous if you twist them the right way. I suggest that you use some of Ira’s fiction prompts and turn them into funny but I don't want you to think that I’m going to make Ira do all the work coming up with ideas here. I had a few of my own that I thought might be humorous.

Write a story where a newborn baby is already automatically able to talk with full knowledge of the English language and full awareness of their surroundings.

You can get fairly creative with this one. Think about Look Who’s Talking, but actually funny.

Write a story where the narrator starts getting bored watching the action that’s going on in the story and actually starts roasting the main character and the main character can actually hear the narrator once they start doing this.

I’ve written a few stories where the narrator has broken the fourth wall, in a sense. Make it much funnier as the narrator continues to interrupt the story.

Write a story where you’re a celebrity who’s just publicly assaulted another celebrity in a public setting. Write a funny story about the fallout of your career-altering choice.

Okay, Will Smith, if you’re out there. You’ve been deemed unworthy of work for the next ten years, you’ve unfortunately been disqualified from participating in this prompt.

For the rest of you, look at Ira’s story. I’ll post it below and also consider the other prompts I’ve added here as well. And as always, create some Mayhem. Preeti Ramachandran, maybe you could send us another wildly hilarious story along the lines of one of these prompts or another P classic like the one you submitted here the first time. Obviously, everyone involved here or who is interested is encouraged to participate as well.
