BOYSSSSS ARE WE READY???????

Ladies and gentlemen, I guess we can consider this the first official action of the 2015 Give ‘Em The Meat League Year!

While it certainly is not football season (unless you count all of the offseason frenzy going on… G-Money, you still drunk from celebrating Revis’ return?), what brings all of us Meat Packers together is our beloved Alma Mater, the University of Connecticut. It’s March, and that means UConn is hitting buzzer beaters and completing comebacks and winning tournaments (NIT ANYONE???). From Ray to Rip to Kemba to Shabazz to the Boatshow, UConn brings more heroics than any other team in college basketball. March Madness is now upon us, and it’s time to fill out the brackets.

That brings us to a new collaboration between March Madness and Give ‘Em The Meat Incorporated:

The Give ‘Em The Meat March Madness Draft Selection Tournament.

Our love for Fantasy Football can now be combined with the thrills of filling out a bracket for the NCAA Tournament. In a proposal spearheaded by Head Ohio Scout Corey Potoniec and Deputy Commissioner Colin Donnarumma, we would like to create our own bracket competition that determines the Give’ Em The Meat 2015 draft order.

The rules are simple:

  • The twelve members of Give ‘Em The Meat each complete their own bracket for the March Madness tournament.
  • Based on tournament results, the winner with the most total points will be able to be the first person to determine their draft position (from 1–12).
  • Second place will then be able to choose their position, followed by third, fourth and so on to the final ranking Meat Packer
  • For example, if reigning Give ‘Em The Meat Champion TJ Hughes wins the March Madness tournament, he can decide to select the first pick in the draft, or the 12th pick, or wherever he feels like he would gain the best advantage. Second place then could select any of the other 11 available slots.
  • In the case of any ties in points, your draft selection position will be determined by final 2014 Give ‘Em The Meat position. This is not final regular season standings, but takes into account playoffs.
  • Draft order will not need to be selected until a week before the draft. This will allow the winner of this tournament to have ample time to survey the draft landscape, and incorporate upcoming NFL transactions, the draft, and pre-season injuries and depth chart changes into his Draft Position selection.

We believe that this new rule change brings us an added edge to the draft process. Draft position has previously been random and completely arbitrary, so this allows us to take draft selection into our own hands to some extent. The Give ‘Em The Meat March Madness Draft Selection Tournament not only adds another unique element to our otherwise wonderful league, but brings us one step closer to multi-sport world domination.

Thank you,
Gregory J. Richards

Commissioner,
Give ‘Em The Meat Inc.
