Health workshop for seniors to kick off in Medford on July 21
“Take Control of Your Health” is a free six-week workshop to help people with chronic illnesses and their caregivers learn how to manage their health. The workshop will start Monday, July 21 and will continue until Monday, Aug. 25 at Cranberry Hall in Medford, located behind the Medford Municipal Building at 17 North Main Street. Classes will run from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The workshops are designed for those who are experiencing an ongoing health condition, those who are anxious or depressed or are coping with daily pain and those who are providing care for someone with a chronic condition.
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Burlington County College is sponsoring the workshops. It is taught by certified trainers of the Stanford University-based program. Those attending the workshops will have an opportunity to set their own goals to improve their health and their lives, gain practical ways to deal with pain, fatigue and stress, and offer ideas for better nutrition and exercise classes.
