Alumni Weekend at YMCA Camp Ockanickon, Inc. in Medford was held from June 17 to June 19. A host of enjoyable activities were held throughout the weekend, including hayrides, hikes, boating, swimming, shelter-building, archery, challenge course activities and so much more.

There was a social for the over-21 crowd on Saturday afternoon and a formal banquet dinner followed on Saturday evening. This led into a night of special events, including a traditional campfire ceremony.

During the event, camp officials honored Rick Hiles, a longtime property manager, who, during more than three decades at camp refurbished cabins, dredged lakes, cleared trails, built bridges and even constructed a night sky observatory.

Hiles, a Medford resident, retired in 1997, but his impact on the 800-acre camp is still evident today.
