Michael J. Vahey of Marlton passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 30. He was 83 years of age. Born in Philadelphia, he is the son of the late Michael J. and Sabina Vahey and resided in Marlton for the past year moving there from Medford, where he resided for 25 years.

Michael is a retired Tool and Die Maker for General Motors in Trenton where he retired in 1996 after 33 years with the company. He was an inventor and an active member of St. Mary of the Lakes Church in Medford for the past 25 years.

He is the beloved husband of Virginia L. (nee Burke) Vahey and the loving father of 12 children and four step-children. He is also survived by his two brothers, two sisters, 19 grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his son Harold M. Vahey, a sister, Kas and a brother, Tom. Relatives and friends were invited to greet the family on Monday, Nov. 9 at the St. Mary of the Lakes Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial followed. Interment was in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Burlington City.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Bradley and Stow Funeral Home, Medford.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family requests memorial donations to Carmelite Sisters, 1318 Delaney Valley Road, Townson, MD 21286–1399.
