Theft

On Jan. 30 at 9:50 p.m., the Medford Township Police investigated a report of a theft from a shopping cart in the parking lot of the Medford Shoprite.

The victim stated that she left her purse in the shopping cart after loading her bags into her vehicle. The victim realized this after she left the parking lot, and immediately returned.

The victim stated that the cart was in the same place, but her purse was gone. The purse contained various gift cards, credit cards, a samsung phone, the victim’s new jersey drivers license, and US currency.

Narcotics

On Feb. 3 at 1:11 pm, Medford Township Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Taunton Boulevard at Chestnut Road on a 1997 Chevrolet pickup truck for an expired inspection sticker.

A subsequent investigation revealed that the driver and the passenger had outstanding warrants for their arrest.

A search incident to arrest revealed that both were in possession of prescription narcotics without a valid prescription.

They were both charged with possession of a prescription legend drug without a valid prescription. Additionally, the driver was charged with operating a motor vehicle while in possession of CDS, and failure to inspect a motor vehicle. He was released on his own recognizance in reference to his outstanding warrant and is pending court.

The passenger was remanded to the Burlington County Jail on her outstanding warrants and is pending court.

On Feb. 4 at 12:26 p.m., Medford Township Police conducted a motor vehicle stop of a 2006 Chevrolet pickup operated by a juvenile on Tuckerton Road without his headlights on.

The vehicle was stopped on Tuckerton Road at Bracken Road.

During the stop an odor of marijuana was detected along with marijuana in plain view. A searched of the vehicle yielded marijuana under 50 grams and CDS paraphernalia.

The juvenile was transported to the station, processed and charged with the above offenses. He was released to his father pending court.

On Feb. 4 at 9:07 p.m., Medford Police responded to the area of Taunton Boulvard for a report of a traffic complaint.

The caller reported a dark color Mitsubishi swerving all over the roadway. Patrols located the vehicle in a driveway on Laurel Drive and made contact with the driver. Officers observed a hypodermic needle in plain view and a subsequent search of the vehicle revealed additional CDS paraphernalia.

The driver was taken into custody and was charged with possession of CDS and CDS paraphernalia. The suspect is currently lodged in the Burlington County Jail on $23,500 bail.
