Everyone has an inner voice, an inner monologue running 24/7. It’s actually considered natural and a healthy part of being human. Our thoughts, beliefs, and biases create this ongoing dialogue. Most of us don’t pay much attention to it, but maybe we should…

On Day 27 in Becoming Built to Lead, Chet shared the power of mantras. I looked up the word and found “mantra” comes from the etymology of “man,” meaning “mind” or “to think,” and “tra,” meaning “tool”. Mantras can act as a tool to ease the mind and release worrisome thoughts.

Imagine what you might hear if your inner voice was recorded and played back out loud. What would you hear? Would your words steer you or sear you?

Becoming Built to Lead requires an awareness of thousands of nuances that define who you are, how you show up, and even how you talk to yourself.

Author some mantras. Use them as a tool to steer you through whatever storm is coming, brewing, or passing through. Here are a couple of my favorites I’ve picked up along the way that have stuck with me….
