Burning Incense, Time

A Brief Memoir

Photo by Daniel Thürler on Unsplash.

To me, incense has always been an indulgence. To burn, to combust, material that was borne of the Earth is an act that symbolizes the passage of time and the transience of existence.

It is wrapped up in the memories that surround the schema of my own identity. My enjoyment of incense grew organically out of my own experiences in childhood and beyond.

We exclusively publish memoirs: The creative stories unpacked from the nostalgic hope chests of our lives.
