Celebrating The Memoirist
Three years old and going strong!
I published the very first story in The Memoirist Halloween of 2021. My essay was an old one and it makes me cringe when I read it now — but it stood as the first in a long line of stories from writers all over the world. Over 10,000 at that. What I didn’t know at the time was that The Memoirist would grow into the thriving community it is today. And I have all you amazing writers to thank, as well as my team of editors who work so hard to help The Memoirist be the quality publication it is today.
I’m proud of the different things we’ve tried over the past few years. From The Memoirist, my publishing umbrella Suite 1984 was created. Many smaller publications were housed under my publishing umbrella, including Age of Empathy, which was founded by Aimée Brown Gramblin, Songstories, which was founded by Christopher Robin, QuickTalk, The Mayhem, Internationale, The Press Box, The Suite 1984 Reading Group, and more.
Many of these smaller pubs are no longer active as I chose to focus my attention more on the needs of the larger publications — The Memoirist, Age of Empathy, and Black Bear — which I…
