In my family, we have problems with gift giving.

We have the best of intentions, we really do. We enjoy giving gifts. We’re just bad at it.

I come by this honestly. My grandmother Didi was infamous for hilariously bad gifts. She used to say, “You should just tell me what you want. Because if you don’t, I’m going to pick something out, and you’re not going to like it.” She was right about that.
