Kindergarten Redux

I remember learning to read as a 4-year-old, lying next to my older sister on one of our twin beds. Kindergarten wasn’t an intellectual challenge for me. My challenge was wrestling the white horse from the clutches of “mean girl.”

So I was excited to start first grade. My working Mom figured that my sister was capable of getting me there. Wrong. Carol took me to the kindergarten…
