Mother was was always rather self-centered and pampered. She had been born vision impaired and cosseted throughout her upbringing. She tended to a bit of selfishness, but wasn’t unkind. And, she had wanted so much to have children. She had loved her babies and wanted to be a good mom. She paid a high price for her four babies who lived. Every pregnancy saw her desperately ill…
