Remembering My Stroke

In the early hours of a Saturday at the end of October, my brain tried to kill me.

It was unsuccessful.

For some reason, doctors shy away from the word “stroke.” They call it a subarachnoid hemorrhage, which is just a fancy term for bleeding in the space that surrounds the brain.

But it was a stroke.
