A thrill, growing up near St. Louis, watching the construction of the Gateway Arch. Straight line view from the school bus window down St. Charles Rock Road. Until that keystone united two massive legs.

Today, watching the game in Busch Stadium. The Arch rising in the sky is echoed in the Arch pattern cut in the grass of the outfield.

The turbulent Sixties in St. Louis. Filled with racial strife, poverty, and crime but also glorious baseball, the incredible glittering, monumental Arch and a busy teen life for me in high school. What memories of living in beautiful St. Louis.
