Tyler Perry makes us cry at the loss of humanity
If you haven’t seen STRAW, go see it and come back. This story contains spoilers.
On Netflix, the movie Straw has been trending in the top ten since its June 06 release. I will not lie; this movie made me sob big crocodile tears.
The story of a poor single mother’s struggle to get $40 so she could pay her child’s school lunch debt, so the other children could stop teasing her, was an epic tearjerker. The movie dragged me back to when I was a poor, struggling single mother. The memories were painful.
The movie’s name, Straw, refers to “The Straw That Broke the Camel’s Back.”
“The idiom “the straw that broke the camel’s back” describes a minor or routine action that causes an unpredictably large and sudden reaction due to the cumulative effect of previous small actions. It alludes to the proverb ‘it is the last straw that breaks the camel’s back.’ “ Wikipedia, Straw that broke the camel’s back
The film was written, produced, and directed by Tyler Perry. Taraji P. Henson, Glynn Turman, Sherrie Shepard, Teyana Taylor, Sinbad, and Rockmond Dunbar are in the movie.
