The snap, or perhaps crack, of the garage door spring rang out into the kitchen. The garage door raised a mere foot off of the ground before crashing back down with a thud. A quick glance to my husband, who had been preparing to leave for a day of watching football and drinking Bud Light with his friends, made one thing clear: we were trapped.

We unknowingly bought our money pit back in 2020. As naive first time home buyers desperate to get out of our one bedroom apartment, we thought the recent flip looked great!

Upon moving in, the water heater busted, leaving us with no hot water for a few days. After replacing the water heater and finding we still did not, in fact, have hot water, an electrician informed us that our entire power system needed replacing. The first time we went to run the dishwasher, we found that it was not actually hooked up to a water line. Every time it rains, the basement floods terribly, a pool of who knows what what covering the entire floor.

Yes, we did have an inspector check this house before we purchased it. Nice enough guy. Lousy inspector.
