Web3 Tips

Wait!

Do you realise how much your lack of patience costs you?

I know, the people who really need to read this won’t.

Waiting is out of fashion. While the British form orderly queues everywhere, I find we generally lost the ability to be patient.

When did this happen?

Perhaps when companies started telling us that we can have it all and NOW. And since our mind is coded to take the easy option if there is one — we are lapping this up.

What are we gaining?

Only a few decades ago, when a baby was born, parents were anxious to find out whether it was a boy or a girl. Now, we have the option to find out the fetus’ gender when they are around 8 weeks.

Practical or lazy?

I’m not here to answer that. But the question is, with all this rushing, what are we losing?

My bet is on:

  • time
  • money
  • trust
  • connection
  • memories
  • opportunities
  • depth
  • excitement and space for emotions

Translate this to our degen world of NFTs. Waiting and patience are mostly words Web3 folk don’t have in their vocabulary.

HODL yes. Patiently HODL? I don’t think so.

Look what happened to “blue chips” and, frankly, most projects (I know, bear, but also this). It appears that what used to be at least 2–3 days when degens gave new projects the benefit of the doubt has now been reduced to 1–2 hours, perhaps even just 20 minutes.

Guys, what is happening?
What are we doing?

Is fear in the driving seat? High expectations? Greed?

Whatever it is, frankly, it’s all rather worrying.
AND WE ARE ALL LOSING.

The whole space will go to 0 if we don’t learn to be patient. The sooner you accept the situation as it presents itself, the easier it gets to give it space.

Need some practical tips on how to be more patient?

Part 2 is coming up … all you need to do is: wait.
