While Facebook’s global reach might be in the billions, Workplace by Facebook has successfully crossed 30,000 businesses and nonprofit organizations including the likes of Starbucks, Walmart, Spotify, Lyft, and more. With a recent launch of dedicated apps, we can only imagine continued overall growth in their second year. Not surprising as we’ve noted before that the learning curve to use Workplace is minimal.

The Microsoft Teams Roadmap

🛣 💬

The people behind Microsoft Teams have been heads down since they announced the eventual sunsetting of Skype for Business during #MSIgnite. Ever since the announcement, as more and more companies are slowly transitioning to Microsoft Teams, Microsoft held an AMA this week to answer any user questions or concerns.

Aside from hosting an AMA, Teams announced a series of roadmaps for Messaging, Meetings, and Calling, so that Skype for Business users are met with a familiar experience when transitioning to Teams.

Interactive Screen Sharing on Slack

🖥 🖱

While basic screen sharing across video calls came to Slack in early May, the team recently unveiled Interactive Screen Sharing to help teams collaborate.

With this latest interactive feature, Slack users can now join a shared space to write, edit, mark-up and scroll — all while on the same project. As competition grows, Slack is actively looking to build up on their platform so users don’t find themselves feeling like they need third party services.

Now this sits as a neat native feature from the Slack team after acquiring Screenhero, which offered a similar experience.
