Mio is now on Cisco Solutions plus

Today, we are pleased to announce Mio is now globally available on Cisco SolutionsPlus. This is an exciting step in our ongoing work with Cisco’s Global Ecosystem BD Team. This means that Cisco’s customers, channel partners and sales teams can now purchase Mio through Cisco’s Global Price List (GPL), streamlining contract ordering and commission to Cisco partners and sales teams.

With more and more enterprises experiencing a multi-vendor collaboration environment, Mio is connecting fragmented and siloed messaging apps into seamless communication across the entire organization. For companies that use Cisco Webex Teams but also have Slack and/or Microsoft Teams users, Mio enables employees to stay in Webex Teams while chatting with colleagues in Slack or Microsoft Teams.

“Our partnership with Cisco allows us to better serve enterprise customers who use Cisco Webex Teams alongside other messaging applications like Slack and Microsoft Teams. Cisco has a longstanding commitment to interoperability and we’re delighted to be working with them to create a federated messaging ecosystem,” said Tom Hadfield, CEO Mio.

Mio offers comprehensive interoperability across chat applications. With Mio, you can sync all the features your teams depend on everyday:

  • Group messaging
  • Threaded messages
  • File uploads
  • Emoji reactions
  • @Mentions
  • Message editing
  • Direct Messages

Cisco Webex Teams and Slack work interoperably

How it works

Mio makes native cross-platform messaging possible in three core steps.

  1. Team authorization: the IT administrator grants Mio’s access and permissions for each team chat account
  2. Channel and user mapping: Mio synchronizes spaces and channels, and links users’ primary preferred platforms. Public channels in Slack and Microsoft Teams can be found as in the Webex spaces directory, and vice versa.
  3. Message routing and translation: as users send messages, Mio receives them as API events, immediately translating them for the recipient’s platform and posting on behalf of the sender’s linked account.

Support

Mio offers two options for support: direct and on-call. Direct support via email or ticketing comes default with all SKUs. On-call support is available, typically for enterprise customers, and can be arranged as part of contract terms. Proof of Concepts and pilot trials are also available.
