I know, I know! You have a great boss who you can share anything with. Your hopes. Your dreams. Your bed.

Kidding.

But if you have a boss you are completely open with, great. Just know that you are the exception. This article is for the 75% of you who say your boss is the worst thing about work.

Sharing information with your boss is like drinking.

If done in moderation it can be delightful and could even reveal helpful, fun or interesting dynamics in a relationship. But if done with abandon, the risks for negative outcomes for your professional future increase.

When authenticity spills over into oversharing it can sometimes hurt you.

A couple You beers is great. Too many, and bridges start burning.

Here are a few things you shouldn’t tell your boss.

1. What you really think of them (without tact) when you leave.
