Does humanity need help or is it just in our heads?

We’ve all done it, at some point in our lives, some more than others. We all watched, listened, read or asked about happiness, motivation and things like that. Motivational videos have become a trend nowadays; NLP coaches are at the sum of their success. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against all of this. I just don’t like this exponential rise in dependency. How to be happy, How to be successful, 7 Tips to get your life together, Depression and how to fight it, Click on this video to change your life once and for all… We see these “help” manifestations every day, and what’s quite fascinating is the fact that we all went for it at least once.

Let’s go back to the basics. This phenomenon doesn’t apply only on these somehow “complicated” matters of life. We are now witnessing confused humanity, especially in some countries like the US, but it is spreading like wild fire. People called “experts” in matters that are, with all due respect, stupid. How to raise your children, How to deal with a hyper active child, How to study, How to eat well, How to be healthy, How to have a conversation. Seriously? When did we become so ignorant in these things? Some might disagree with me, but what the hell is that? And people treat them as if these books and so called experts are the knights in shining armors here to save humanity. If humanity needed these so desperately, we wouldn’t have survived all these years. The fucking basics! The historians, mathematicians, physicists, doctors, philosophers, kings and queens who lived before us didn’t need books to know how to do basic things and got where they were. The choice of these people in this example if for the argument that this material prevents you from ending up being a complete psychopathic loser in life. This blows my mind. We became so crippled that we need books and other ‘superior people who know shit” in order to function properly in life. — I apologize for the term, I used it metaphorically. — So far that nowadays everyone who knows a thing or two about something writes a goddamn book. I understand this in special cases that need these interventions. For example, if you are a person with a special characteristic and you need guidance, for example you suffer from a disease or disorder or have someone who endures the same thing and need guidance on how to deal with it. In this case, I completely understand and encourage getting help. But when you’re a normal, grown ass man or woman and need help all the time for stuff humanity dealt with since the dawn of time, you need to get it together.

Okay so, back to the topic. I’m not being judgmental and I sure as hell am not excluding myself from this, I just don’t like this state because I believe it’s purely in our head. It’s okay to be down sometimes, I mean we’re not programmed to be in one state all the time obviously. And it’s okay to need a little pick up sometimes. We just need to take control over our own lives. We were brought here, each one of us, for a specific reason. It’s okay to be confused. It’s okay to be shaken and afraid from time to time. But we can’t go to those, I call them instructions manuals because that’s how we treat them, every time. I want to put emphasis on the fact that we are different. Different means we get motivated by different things, and define happiness differently. When I personally open one of those videos and see the humongous number of views, I feel a little sad for all of us. If you are in trouble or suffer from a chronic disorder, then you need PROFESSIONAL help. If not you need to grow up and take control of your life, myself included.
