Local foodie champions bring home the bacon with new offering.

Remember Nick Coleman’s visit to MKIG? His category-leading porky snack brand, Snaffling Pig, is launching a £750k crowdfunding campaign to drive the foodie scaleup’s next phase of growth. In a bid to take on the £3.2bn chilled pork market, the business — that’s made its name in blending great tasting, innovative snacks with its trademark cheeky branding — is looking to invest further into core marketing functions, taking its £5.2m turnover to £30m+ in the next five years, offering a 10% stake in the business.

Snaffling Pig started life in 2014 on the back of a £500 bet. Local Founder and CEO Nick Coleman set out to transform the humble, neglected pork crackling and scratching market. That belief morphed into an obsession.

A range of flavoured pork crackling snacks has extended to huge advent calendars, wedding favours, a beer, a hot sauce, a cookbook and a huge range of gifts. Snaffling Pig products are now available in numerous retail outlets as well as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, the Co-op and WH Smith.
