How to Kick-start Your Day

“How are you?”

“How are you doing?”

“How do you do?”

All variations on a theme.

A common reply is something like “I’m well thanks, how are you?”

The question is, of course, seldom intended to solicit a deep and meaningful response. It’s oil in the machinery of human interaction.

But the question can be reframed as an opportunity to boost your energy levels (and maybe those of the asker). Perhaps a chance to kick-start your day? An opportunity to raise the volume on your emotional wellbeing?

How about:

“I’m living the dream!”

“Good and getting better!”

“Somewhere between stupendous and absolutely amazing!”

“When I woke up I felt great, now I’m really buzzing!”

“On a roll!”

“On a scale of one to ten, about a twelve, but I’ll get better after lunch.”

Too superficial? On a par with “Have a nice day”?

Well, perhaps, and maybe not appropriate in all situations. But perhaps more engaging, more fun and more contagious than the alternative.

Have an inspiring day!
