How I Failed With My First Book And What I Did About It With My Next 19 Books
This one key changed the course of sales for my first book.
When I published, Productivity Success, I had a grand total of 248 book sales in that first year. I spent all year ‘promoting’ this book and that was all I could do to sell copies.
I couldn’t figure out how I failed to get to 1,000 orders.
So, like any average first time author, I abandoned the book altogether for my next project without figuring out my problem. I was hoping that maybe it would sort itself out with the next book.
Lo and behold, I failed again.
The next book, a devotional on The Gospel of John, had a good showing with free downloads at about 700 orders plus another 300 or so Kindle purchases at $0.99 which I was super happy with. But, after that first three months, sales flatlined.
So, I abandoned that book too.
It wasn’t until my third book, a devotional on The Book of Proverbs, that I figured out how to sell books over and over and over again. It was with this book that I learned how to see monthly sales and it has changed everything.
