How to promote your books as a minimalist author

You first book is published!

Now what? What are you supposed to do now? Well, there are a few steps you can take to promote your book. Some of these steps can start before you hit publish, but some of them are dependent on after.

So, today, we are going to break these steps down into two parts:

  1. Pre-Publish
  2. Post-Publish

In these two parts, I will give you a list of activities to help you prepare to publish your books as a minimalist author. And the work you do for your first book will help you with every single one after your first.

Pre-Publish Activities

These are the main activities you should be doing while you are writing, editing, and designing your book. They will help you with the post-publish activities and make a huge difference for the future.

  1. Build an email list. Going back to the beginning, you should be creating your book as posts on Medium or Substack. Make sure you have a Call-to-action to gather email subscribers. These subscribers will be your first potential sales.
