Are you surrounded by clutter? Chances are you’re hanging on to things because you think they tell a story or because they belonged to someone you care about. If those things are not bringing you joy, it’s ok to get rid of them. You can donate them to the needy or pass them on to another family member if that makes you feel better. But if you are holding on to something out of obligation or guilt, this is the year to let it go.

Clutter affects your health in many ways. When you are surrounded by clutter and unable to relax, your stress level soars. This in turn affects your physical health. There’s also more dust and dust mites to deal with when you have too much clutter. You can actually get sick from too much clutter!

Start by just getting started- there’s no need to procrastinate. Only keep things that make you happy. Before you buy something, ask yourself where it will go and whether you really need it. Chances are you don’t need it and you don’t have anywhere to put it anyway. Learn more about these and other great tips from professional organizers from this infographic!
