3 Techniques to Stay Positive In Your Low Times

“I’m feeling frustrated.”

“I don’t know what I do.”

“I see dark clouds all over my life.”

These are the thoughts that come to my mind in my low times.

I've noticed that my coolest friends, family members, and colleagues also have their low times.

To be honest — It happens to all of us. We all see down times in life.

Your marriage or relationship is in a shambles.

You’re not financially stable (even after daily hard work).

You suddenly lose your loved one.

And, we fall into the trap of negativity and depression.

You struggle to get out of bed every morning- But you can’t.

We think this is the natural thing because we’re going through hard times.

There are two kinds of people, one who allows the low times to last — while others know the secrets of quickly getting back into a positive state.

You have a choice — Let your situation lead you or you lead the life.

Read the above sentence again.

Here are 3 simple techniques that will help you to turn the negativity into positivity (these techniques work for me). I hope you’ll find these helpful.

1. Start your day positively

“Each morning we are born again. What we do today is what matters most.” — Buddha

The way you start your day can affect your whole mood and environment.

Start your day on positive note, don’t consume any information right after you wake up (like reading newspaper or checking social media).

Start your day by practicing meditation, going for a walk in the park, or reading an inspiring book.

This practice will reduce the stress and anxiety and set the tone to your day.

2. Hangout with positive people

“You become like the five people you spend the most time with. Choose carefully.” — Jim Rohn

People’s thoughts, vibes, and mindset will become your own. It’s important that you spot the difference between positive and negative people. Hangout with positive people, be it your friends, family, or work colleague.

Don’t involve in office politics in lunchtime or your free time, instead meet up with a colleague who makes you smile and feel good about yourself.

Don’t let anyone feed you negative thoughts.

3. Write 3 things you’re grateful for

“We always have something for being grateful, no matter what your condition or situation. Just make a list of things you’re grateful for and read it every day.” — Brian Tracy

Do this every morning — create a list of three things you’re grateful for (no matter how small they’re).

This practice will help you to think about the good and positive things you already have. Negative thoughts don’t come to a grateful mind.

Staying positive is a constant battle — It needs practice.

We don’t become positive overnight. We learn from our mistakes and experiences. A positive and optimistic mind helps you to handle stress in a more constructive way.
