Augmented and virtual reality will change how we see the world
and the technology is closer to entering our everyday lives than you think

Imagine being able to virtually confront, control, and use all the data around you — and on the Internet — to help you accomplish your goals. Once you can visualize the next step and utilize real-time information via a heads up display, suddenly, jobs become easier. Tasks can be automated. Safety protocols can now be verified in real-time.

The Internet has helped billions do things like this already. Smartphones too. And AR/VR technology is poised to take it further.

We recently had the opportunity to interview three digital futurists to learn about the near- and long-term potential of AR/VR, or as we like to call it, the Mirror World.

On Episode One of Hidden in Plain Sight, we are joined by Wired magazine co-founder Kevin Kelly, Contextere founder Gabe Batstone, and Oblong Industries CEO John Underkoffler to discuss the future as they see it.

Listen to (or read) the episode.

Note From The CEO 🗣

It’s been said that everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about.

This couldn’t be more true.

Up until late last year and since I was a kid, I’ve been fighting a battle with trauma, depression, and PTSD. Some of the trauma was intergenerational. We’ll dive more into this soon, and we’re bringing back our book club soon with the first pick,

It Didn’t Start with You: How Inherited Family Trauma Shapes Who We Are and How to End the Cycle by Mark Wolynn.

The most important thing to remember about whatever battles or demons you’re facing is
it didn’t start with you. It’s not you that is the problem. It’s not you that caused it. It’s not you who is to blame. In fact, looking for anyone to blame (and scapegoat) is the most insidious trap of all.

After realizing that it’s not my fault, the next step for me was looking for the perfect people to help. Tomorrow we’ll dive into the ultimate skill required for actually finding the “perfect” professionals to help.
