Entering the Mirror World đș
Augmented and virtual reality will change how we see the world⊠and the technology is closer to entering our everyday lives than you think
Imagine being able to virtually confront, control, and use all the data around you â and on the Internet â to help you accomplish your goals. Once you can visualize the next step and utilize real-time information via a heads up display, suddenly, jobs become easier. Tasks can be automated. Safety protocols can now be verified in real-time.
The Internet has helped billions do things like this already. Smartphones too. And AR/VR technology is poised to take it further.
We recently had the opportunity to interview three digital futurists to learn about the near- and long-term potential of AR/VR, or as we like to call it, the Mirror World.
On Episode One of Hidden in Plain Sight, we are joined by Wired magazine co-founder Kevin Kelly, Contextere founder Gabe Batstone, and Oblong Industries CEO John Underkoffler to discuss the future as they see it.
Note From The CEO đŁ
Itâs been said that everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about.
This couldnât be more true.
Up until late last year and since I was a kid, Iâve been fighting a battle with trauma, depression, and PTSD. Some of the trauma was intergenerational. Weâll dive more into this soon, and weâre bringing back our book club soon with the first pick,
It Didnât Start with You: How Inherited Family Trauma Shapes Who We Are and How to End the Cycle by Mark Wolynn.
The most important thing to remember about whatever battles or demons youâre facing is⊠it didnât start with you. Itâs not you that is the problem. Itâs not you that caused it. Itâs not you who is to blame. In fact, looking for anyone to blame (and scapegoat) is the most insidious trap of all.
After realizing that itâs not my fault, the next step for me was looking for the perfect people to help. Tomorrow weâll dive into the ultimate skill required for actually finding the âperfectâ professionals to help.
